| Literature in the1940s is a very special stage in the history of Chinese literature, whose most distinctive feature is the tendency of popularization. The top priority of the whole nation in the1940s is to survive for national salvation, launch the masses and unite with all forces that can be united for the Chinese people’s Anti-Japanese War. The popularization of literature refers to the fact that literary serves art workers and the literary is connected with peasants and soldiers at this time, that is to say, literary should be connected with workers, peasants and soldiers that are at the bottom of the society and serve them. It can be said that literature in the40s opened another era called the real literary popularization era since the May4th literature, which is mainly about people and things at the bottom of society. From the1990s to the new century, China’s market economy was sustainable and developed rapidly, people’s living standards were generally promoted, and the openness, consumer and popularization of the social and cultural level were also enhanced accordingly. However, due to the highlight of the long-term accumulation of contradictions in the process of China’s development, especially the problems of social strata differentiation and the widening of the gap between rich and poor and so on caused by the uneven distribution of interests, the whole society would focus on the bottom and the literature in new era will also be mainly about the life at the bottom of the crowd. Combining the popularization of writing in the40s with the creative writing achievements at the bottom in new century and taking the popularization as the breakthrough point, the paper analyzes and compares the focus of writers in the two periods on the public and the writings about the bottom, demonstrates the performance of popularization in its creation, investigates both the similarities and differences of the writers at two times, analyzes the subject spirit of writers, and then talks about the development of literature in new century.Besides the introduction and conclusion, this paper mainly includes four parts. The first chapter is mainly to show the popularization of literature in the1940s and analyze the background and specific reasons for the production of literature popularization in the40s. Survival for national salvation is the theme in the40s and the popularization of literature during this period is a special literary phenomenon in the history of Chinese literature, which is the product of the era and is also a requirement for its own development as well as the results of the joint efforts of writers. The second chapter is mainly focused on the analysis of works in the1940s. With the continuous development of social reality, the spirit and emotions of intellectuals has also great changed. They took the social responsibility of intellectuals and created a large number of literary works, which were rich in Chinese style and very popular among common people, and made literature and art serve for the workers, peasants and soldiers. The third chapter is the core of this article, analyzing the background of writings in the new century and comparing the similarities and differences between the popularization of literary in the40s and the writings in the new century, which indicates that the authors in the two periods created the popular literary works for readers from the strong bear consciousness, problem consciousness, the witness point of sinking, but in the process of concrete creation, authors were showing their independence and they all have their own emotional attitude and aesthetic pursuit. The fourth chapter analyzes the deficiency and dilemma of writings in the new century and then discusses its further development in the future.The conclusion part discusses the development of literature popularity and it is expected that writers will create more outstanding works on the basis of drawing the experience and achievements from the ancient and modern and the Chinese and foreign. |
