A Comparative Study Of Yangzhou Paper-cut Paper-cut Art Features And Shaanxi

Paper-cut, with a history of over3000years, is a folk art which has been created, spread and applied by Chinese people of that time during folk life. It plays an important role in Chinese national culture, reflects folk culture vividly, concerns the culture foundation of the whole folk art and has great vitality and influence.Along with the social development, scientific-technical progress and the change of aesthetic taste and social mainstream culture, paper-cut has gradually faded out of people’s sight and life. Excellent traditional culture does not get reasonable protection and inheritance, so it is particularly important to consider over the modernization development and significance of traditional paper-cut.This article will makes the comparison and research of the Paper-cut Culture based on the two most representative area of China:Yangzhou and Shanxi. As we know Yangzhou paper-cut is the typical representative of southern paper-cut, while Shanxi paper-cut represents the north paper-cut characteristics.
