The investigation and study object of this thesis is Lao She, Lin Yutang described "daily life inold Beijing" literary text, and find the space of narrative and imagine for the "old Beijing daily life"of them. Study period roughly from the late Qing Dynasty to the founding of the People’s Republicof China. The main reason for the topics of: the above-mentioned period, Beijing (Peking), theconcept of daily living (or may be called "The Art of Living") has implications for modern face oflife stress. The text of this thesis, the core is still for the analysis of literary works; However, on thisbasis, I will continue to explore the field of research associated with the history, culture, socialcustoms, and other "non-literary"; and tried through such channels, a new way to analyze the dailylife of old Beijing ". Discusses the main approach adopted: the analysis summarized in two thetypical significance writers-Lao She, Lin Yutang-text works, looking to them for the daily life ofold Beijing "narrative and imagination.Discusses the writing process, I selected two writers described daily life in old Beijing"depicted in the same context, the different positions, summarized as follows: four main livingenvironment, eating habits, recreational pastime, etiquette civilization part; textual structure and sothe arrangement for the establishment of this thesis is divided into four chapters.The introduction: first, descript the origin of the thesis; then establish the direction of thesis,and combing topics Research; finally, show the basic ideas and research papers layout.Chapter Ⅰ: discussion the "living environment" of old Beijing, namely the "courtyard" andthe "alley". They respectively represent two aspects of ancient city Peking----"pastoral" and "town".This chapter is set to two: Section I, discuss the courtyard "relaxed and prosperous life space" and "the automorphic restrained ethos "; Section II, discusses the alley "the charm long marketplacegoods sound" and " Communicative spaces of the attitudes of the world situation ".ChapterⅡ: discusses the "food culture" of old Beijing.
