In the1920s, China’s famous musician Mr. Li Jinhui (1891-1967) created a large numberof children’s choreography, musics and drama, he integrated reality, goodness, beauty, freedom,equality and fraternity into the core of education, to cultivated the youths with noble sentiment,this influenced all over the country in both urban and rural schools, as well as the schools inother Southeast Asian countries. Mr Li implemented the concept of aesthetic through music anddance, it not only push the schooling dancing forward at that time, but also had a large impactnowadays.Dancing is an effective measure to beautify the posture, release feelings and adjust emotions,and especially useful through the campus activities. Therefore it is important that school andsociety pay attention to the development of school dancing. Mr Li’s school dancing has showedthe effectiveness of children’s dancing to aesthetic education, however, hundred years later, thereare still problems to the implementation of school dancing. Recently, the development of schooldancing is imbalanced in different areas, though the development of arts education in someuniversities has development rapidly with outstanding achievements, the implantation of schooldancing in earlier education yet not comprehensive.This thesis is start with Mr Li’s children’s songs and dances, analyze his work through theview of choreography, then analyze the current situations of campus dancing with the theories ofhistory, pedagogy, physiology and psychology. This thesis then discusses the problem of currentschool dancing and suggests relevant solutions, to increase the theory level of school dancing.The results of the thesis is able to help the government to take account the campus dancing intothe school educations.This thesis has three chapters:Chapter1: Jinhui Li’s children’s songs and dancing provided a theoretical guide to schooldancing. This chapter concludes the necessity of Mr Li’s dancing education and achievements bysummarizing the features of childrens’ dancing creation, proformance and aesthetic eduction,then can provide the theory of current campus dancing. This chapter is the theoretical foundationfor this thesis based on the concept and development of campus dancing.Chapter2: This chapter suggests the introduction of Mr Li’s concept to current campus.Although campus dancing in school education developed widely and rapidly, there are still somedrawback. By field research, the current problem can be revealed and the solutions is suggested.Chapter3: This chapter is to develop the core theory, emphasizes the necessity of schooldancing in aesthetic education. School dancing is important to students’ physical development,education of art and dancing, and more importantly, to the inheritance of ethnic cultures. This chapter explores the direction and goals of the development of current campus dancing, thenappeals the schools and society pay attention to the importance of campus dancing.
