With the rise of China’s international status and influence in the world, it has set off a wave of Chinese hot, more and more students come to China in order to learn Chinese. The theoretical and experimental research on Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language is also more and more widespread and deeply. However, the research about teaching Chinese characters has lagged, and the basic research considers the teaching of Chinese characters as a separate part of the study, since there are a few integrated lessons (Intensive courses) linked, but rarely involved in the teaching of Chinese characters in writing class. In the initial stage of Chinese teaching, it traditionally emphasizes more listening and speaking. Through there is also writing, just only to teach the basic strokes of Chinese characters, a single individual writing, not from the group of words within sentences, sentence connected, discourse combination of basic writing training to teaching Chinese characters. While the primary stage is the most important basic stage for the foreign students to learn Chinese, the author of this paper attempts to discuss the teaching of Chinese characters from the perspective of the primary Chinese writing lessons.This paper is divided into six chapters:The first chapter is an introduction. The thesis topic causes, significance and the research status are introduced; The second chapter is concerned about the four aspects of curriculum, teaching objectives, teaching content, teaching methods, comparatively studies teaching of Chinese characters in Chinese as a Foreign Language writing courses and other lesson types; The third chapter departures from the relationship between the words based, character based, morpheme based, and their relationship with the Chinese language teaching. Besides, it discusses the relationship between the Chinese characters and the writing, teaching of Chinese characters and writing teaching; The fourth chapter analyzes the errors of Chinese characters of international students assignments and their causes; The fifth chapter mainly discusses the writing class characteristics of the teaching of Chinese characters and Chinese characters teaching and writing teaching relationship on the basis of the international students written Writing Errors analysis combining personal teaching experience, discusses teaching Chinese characters methods in Elementary Chinese writing courses; The sixth chapter is on the basis of International Students’ Writing Errors analysis, discusses the advantages and disadvantages of "Experiencing Chinese Writing Tutorial (Junior1)" in the teaching of Chinese characters, and puts forward some useful suggestions for the compose of the Elementary Chinese writing textbooks.
