His novels make readers see people of different lifestyles and living conditions in a turbulent society.In this stage, his novels had present many characteristics such as a strong subjective lyrical on the technique of art characteristics, personalized dialogue, portray person’s complicated personality and so on. After the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, Wu Xiru came to Yan’an as a result of the needs of the revolutionary work. Yan’an period was the peak of his novel creation.At this time, the tendency of his novels had been changed. He was no longer pitied and enlightened the people being mentally enslaved. He began to pay close attention to the country and the nationality in the agonies of war and revolution. Reflect the resistance of life, reflect the thoughts and feelings all kinds of people during the period of Anti-Japanese War, stimulate the vitality and dynamism of national, for the country and people looking for rebirth opportunity in suffering, became the main result of his novels in this period.
