Jiahong Liu, professor of China Central Academy of Fine Arts, sculptureartist, and sculpture foundation educator, is one of many Chinese sculptureeducationists. This paper, based on interviews with Jiahong, his papers and hisnotes in chronological order of his experience from a student to a teacher,summarizes and outlines the formation and the basics of his view of art andeducation concept and practical examples in education, explores its educationalsignificance in the basic sculpture education in the Sculpture Department ofChina Central Academy of Fine Arts, and tries to explore the interest and valueof sculpture education profession.This paper, starting with Jiahong’s biography, explains why and how hebecame attached to arts and the course of study, and analyzes his teachingfoundation of sculpture, the systematic structure he formed while he wasreceiving education. Secondly, this paper outlines the process of Jiahong’sdevelopment and teaching foundation of sculpture, analyzes his artistic style,and summarizes the formation of his education philosophy and then practice.Finally, this paper elaborates Jiahong’s contribution and achievement in the fieldof basic sculpture education in the background of new era of economicdevelopment, and explores Jiahong’s value of being a teacher, showing howteachers fulfill themselves in their profession, and integrate career value into selfvalue.
