The painting art of Qi Baishi is unique in Chinese and Western paintingcircles, and it always wins attention and praise from the world. Even there are lots of paintingsof him about flower and bird, then these paintings quite prominentlypresent that he was unique in artistic creation. Qi Baishi could combineancient and modern elements when he used the techniques of pen and ink,and he would recruit the advantages from hundred schools, later he madehis paintings be different from others as well as created his own style;While in the painting subjects, he dared to break through the barriersof predecessors, being not prevented by the ancients, so that in this wayhe could also make his paintings have a unique artistic style.The early living experience in country had deeply influenced QiBaishi’s aesthetic consciousness, as a result his paintings about flowerand bird consciously or unconsciously broke through the set pattern oftraditional ones. Also in the aspectof aesthetics and art theory, it analyses the unique charm of “poeticcountryside，interest and charm” in Qi Baishi’s painting art.Qi Baishi was a commoner with scholarization as well as a scholar withcommoner character, and he combined the rustic folk art style andtraditional literati painting style depend on his wisdom and humor as afarmer, then in this way his paintings become the best among the Chinesemodern flower and bird paintings. So in the end Qi Baishi created thepaintings which had aftertastes for the whole China and even the world.
