This paper mainly studies the application of The Banqiang Style in the contemporary Chinese opera musical composition.The first chapter divides into three sections.It is sectioned into the breakthrough use of The Banqiang Style in the modern composition and how The Banqiang Style coordinates with other techniques.The first section outlines the "basic" and "variant" of The traditional Banqiang Style.The author believes that the development of The Banqiang Style application originates from the aesthetic evolution of the opera art.Its performance forms reflect how The Banqiang Style pursue and accommodate to the aesthetics from various eras.The second and the third sections showcase the evolvement of The Banqiang Style in contemporary opera from stiff to flexible,from conservative to more open-minded.The second chapter divides into three sections.Taking Piano music as the center of the discussion,a considerable amount of works adopt the elements of Beijing opera,folk music,and national instrumental music.Importantly,they apply The Banqiang Style that allows their works to have more Chinese Character.In which case,the application of The Banqiang Style push the development of ethnic characterization in Chinese piano music,and such application of music is unique in the world.The third chapter divides into five sections.The writer deliberately lists five influential composers in contemporary China.The works from these composers shall be divided into two categories,which are “recomposition” and “melody reference.” Take piano works as the center of discussion,with combinations of few symphonic pieces,in modern composition,the composers' use of The Banqiang Style has experienced a transition from unconscious to conscious,from reference to creation,from simple-structured to symphonic level complexity.The fourth chapter is divided into three sections.The first section concludes that although the formation of the current Banqiang Style is rather recent,the very original form of this genre has started formatting as early as the Han,Tang and Song Dynasties.The second section combines the “aesthetic tendency of traditional folk culture” and the development of the “varieties within one song” structure,which sums up that thehistorical trend has chosen the music with The Banqiang Style.The third section affirms the perspectives of music's ethnic characters and continued development of culture concerning traditional music,which further demonstrates that utilizing The Banqiang Style in modern music composition can perfect the modern aesthetic values and artistic pursuits.
