Painting Decade (1989-1999)

The situation of world has changed the circle of painting in the early20thcentury. The center of world painting gradually transferred from France to American,and the emergence of various forms of modern art added prosperity to painting. But inChina, with the continuous improvement and development of the oil painting, the oilpainting has become a new form to affect the progress of Chinese painting art.This article is decided into three chapters with the introduction and conclusion.The first chapter mainly elaborates the fusion and development of oil painting inChina since the founding of new China and is written in two stages: from1949to1976under the single ideology of socialist realism; from1976to1989the art of "newperiod". The second chapter describes a new look and a new trend between1989and1999. The third chapter focuses on the form of oil painting language between1989and1999. Several main forms of painting are list: New realism、The painting ofplaying the realism、political pop art and cartoon art. Conclusion part summarizes thedevelopment of the decade which has a significant effect to today’s oil painting.In the ten years, the artists continued to accept foreign culture and wereinfluenced by western art. Chinese oil painting ended the single form in the past andgradually became diversification, then the whole society had become more inclusive.The crucial decade has gradually lead the Chinese art into the international track withthe world.
