| Vocabulary is the most important part of language, and bearing the weight of the importantsymbol of national culture. Color terms are the special words in vocabulary. They are not onlybearing the weight of the basic meaning of color, but also embodies the rich connotation ofsignificance. Color terms teaching are very difficulty in the second language activies. Thedifferences between Chinese and English, in particular connotation,will caused great trouble tothe foreign students who learning Chinese. From the Contrastive Analysis between Chinese andEnglish Color Terms, and why Chinese and English Color Terms have different meanings, wedraw some useful insights of teaching Chinese Color Terms to speakers of other language.This article can be divided into six parts:The introduction. In this chapter, the research background of the Color Terms and the origin ofthis argument are briefly introduced. Finding the insufficient, establishment the defect in the past,and finding this paper’s method and goal.In Chapter1, we propose a Basic Color Terms concept and provide its motivation and analysison the basis of the observation of the previous research on Color Terms.In Chapter2, we make contrastive analysis of the basic color terms in terms of culture betweenChinese and English.In Chapter3, we trust our best to find out why the basic color terms between English andChinese have different in terms of culture.In Chapter4, we draw some useful insights of teaching Chinese Color Terms to speackers ofother languages.The end of the passage. |
