Semantic Study Of Chinese Nouns Culture

Language and Culture are related closely, Cultural Linguistics is the study of therelationship between language and culture, it is an important branch of linguistics, it mainlystudies the inherent in language culture. In the context of the Cultural Linguistic, CulturalSemantics is the study of the relationship between meaning and culture, especially focus onthe study the cultural connotation of the vocabulary in language. With the development of thesociety, studying the cultural connotations of vocabulary plays an important role in thecultural exchanges and the vocabulary teaching. Directional Word is a kind of importantwords in the Chinese vocabulary, not only embodies the concept of the ancient position, butalso has many cultural connotation.Recent years, influenced by the Cultural Linguistics and Cognitive Linguistics, Theacademic takes attention to study the cultural connotation of the orientation from cultural andcognitive perspective, the academic field for the study of orientation words’ cultural semanticsinvolves a very wide scope, some scholars study it from a synchronic perspective, others arefrom a diachronic perspective to study the relationship between Chinese orientations andculture, but have no system of position word cultural semantic research comprehensively. Soto study cultural connotation of the orientations need to combine the synchronic anddiachronic, analysis systematically. In this article, basic the perspective of cultural semantics,to analysis the semantic system of culture of Chinese locative words, and analyzed thecharacteristics of cultural meaning of Chinese words and the cause of formation.This thesis consists of introduction, body and conclusion of three parts,the maincontents are as follows:The introduction part is mainly to define the range of words cultural meaning, alsopresent the words and their cultural semantic research are analyzed, and further discusses thesignificance and method of orientation words cultural semantic research.The body is divided into three chapters. The first chapter analyzes locative East, West,South, North, the Upper and Lower, Left, Right, Front and Back, Inside and Outside, In thecultural semantics. On this basis, the second chapter mainly from the systematic, nationality,history and dependence four aspects introduced locative semantic characteristics of culture.Finally, the third chapter mainly discusses the reason of locative semantic formation of culture,mainly from the visual language, the integration of spatial concept, ethical ideology andmetaphorical cognitive mode four aspects.The conclusion part is a brief summary of the whole artcle.
