Lion is one of the most popular figures in both Chineses and Western cultural. The combination of the lion-figures and ceramics makes a contribution to the cultural prosperity.The period of Kangxi, Yongzheng and Qianlong of Qing Dynasty,China is so strong, stable and developed that to be called as "the the prosperous period of Qing dynasty". The ceramics which represents one of the highest achievements of China also developed to a higher level. Both the decoration and shape of the ceramics almost inherit all of the achievements of the past dynasty. The lion-figures which has a typical Chinese characteristics was widely used in the production of ceramics. At the same time, as the developing of the seaway between Asia and Europe form15th century, The Western lion-figures also become a popular decorate theme of Chinese ceramics. With the analysis and comparison of the lion-figures from the different culture,in which we can find the characteristic of them. And these differences mirrored not only the politics and economics, but the cultural exchange of the given period.There are three parts Include in this paper. Firstly, Describe the born of Chinese lion-figure in brief and analyze the principal character of it in each time. Secondly, Analyze the lion-figures from China and Europe of the prosperous period of Qing dynasty. Thirdly, On the basis of the analysis in the second part, try to find some representative marks of cultural exchange.This paper is based on the analysis of the lion-figures from different cultural,in order to find the cultural intercourse between the east and the west.To some extent,it can expand connotation of Chinese ceramics and the achievement of cultural exchange in18th century.
