Research On The Reasons For The Prosperous Guanzhong Porcelain Industry In The Ming And Qing Dynasties

The history of Chinese ceramics is an important part of China's material and cultural history.As the crystallization of the wisdom of our ancestors,ceramics are not only the carrier of material,but also the carrier of spirit,serving the material and spiritual life of human beings.The shape and decoration of ceramic products all serve the needs of people's life.They are closely related to the economy,culture and even the level of science and technology of the society at that time.Studying the history of ceramics can reflect the ideology of the society at that time.Chinese ceramics in the Ming and Qing Dynasties occupied an important position in the history of ceramics.From the posture of blooming flowers in Song Dynasty to the transition of Yuan Dynasty,to Ming Dynasty,it has changed into a unique central radiation scene of Jingdezhen porcelain industry and opened a new era for the development of porcelain industry.However,under the dominant environment of Jingdezhen porcelain industry,the porcelain kilns in the northern area have not completely disappeared,especially in Guanzhong area.There were a number of porcelain kilns,represented by Yaotou kiln and Chen kiln,which flourished in the Ming and Qing dynasties.At present,the research on Ming and Qing porcelain industry in academia only focuses on Jingdezhen porcelain industry,while the research on Guanzhong porcelain industry in Ming and Qing dynasties is limited to individual cases,lacking of overall grasp and research.At the same time,its research focuses on the kiln site and the porcelain itself.It is difficult to study the relationship between the prosperity of the porcelain industry in Guanzhong and the society.Based on material data and relevant literature,this paper makes a preliminary discussion on the reasons for the prosperity of Guanzhong porcelain industry in Ming and Qing Dynasties,and further shows the impact of the modern social transformation trend on traditional industries through the relationship between the porcelain industry and society.In the first chapter,taking Yaotou kiln and Chen kiln,the representative kilns in Guanzhong in Ming and Qing dynasties,as examples,the history,type,decoration and trade scope of the kilns were sorted out and studied.It was found that the characteristics of the porcelain industry in Guanzhong in Ming and Qing dynasties were that the key market was placed among the lower class of the people,and the products produced were based on the actual needs and preferences of the people,especially those coinforming to the local special functions.Low price,win by quantity.The main body of the second chapter is Jingdezhen products found in Guanzhong during Ming and Qing Dynasties.Comparing with Guanzhong middle-class porcelain,it is found that there are more display porcelain than Guanzhong middle-class porcelain,with smaller volume,gorgeous decoration and high price,which are mostly used by upper-class people.Chapter 3 introduces the route and mode of Jingdezhen porcelain sold to Guanzhong through the traffic situation of Shaanxi in Ming and Qing Dynasties,and finds that the transportation of Jingdezhen porcelain to Guanzhong in Ming and Qing Dynasties has many difficulties.Chapter Four analyses the reasons for the prosperity of Guanzhong porcelain industry in Ming and Qing Dynasties from two aspects of demand and transportation.It is found that Guanzhong middle-class porcelain is more in line with the local people's needs in terms of function and decoration preferences.At the same time,Jingdezhen porcelain market is smaller because of the high transportation cost and production cost,which is only for the upper class.These two advantages expand the living space for the development of Guanzhong Porcelain Industry and make it prosperous under the strong pressure of Jingdezhen Porcelain Industry.The article establishes a connection between transportation and material and thought,emphasizing the relationship between porcelain and social environment.The rise and fall of the porcelain industry in Guanzhong area during the Ming and Qing Dynasties is regarded as the epitome of the transformation of moden society and the evolution of commercial pattern.which shows the true and complete history as far as possible.
