Television documentary is a unique practice of art expression mainly through the form ofvideo and complementary background music. In the meantime, simultaneous verbalinterpretation, which is an essential part of the TV documentary, will be performed along thevideo setting at the appropriate tone and pace. This essay had made comparisons between <Discoverying the Yangtze River>,<Rediscoverying the Yangtze River> as regard to theirartistic style of lingual presentation, and concluded on the general trend in the changes ofinterpretation style of the documentary television under different historical background. In linewith this trend, this essay also invested the corresponding changes in the motives of theproduction, utilization of media technology and target audience in order to further explore thepossible reasons behind the progress of the interpretation style throughout time and its influenceson the development of the Documentary Television. |
