| Liang Qichao, an earthshaking politician and enlightenmental propagandist in modern and contemporary Chinese history, makes great contributions to the development of new national spirit by exploring the ancient Chinese culture, and he keeps on fighting under these perilous circumstances on account of his own philosophy of life. The taste theory is an important part of Liang Qichao’s aesthetic thought, and the paper intends to explore the essential elements which empower Liang Qichao to keep fighting in his lifetime from the standpoint of his aesthetic theory of the taste. The paper contains three parts, and in the first part the author mainly explores the historical origin of Liang Qichao’s aesthetic theory of the taste, which concerns the Western aesthetic thought and his profound cultural background. In the second part, the author explores thoroughly the connotation of Liang Qichao’s aesthetic theory of the taste from the aspects of definition, characteristic, and the aesthetic features of the taste theory. The success of certain theory indispensably depends on its theoretical value, therefore, in the third part the author explores the issue of theoretical value of Liang Qichao’s aesthetic theory of the taste which involves the significances for reality, life, and future so as to show certain enlightenments for the past and current society. |
