Anaphora is a normal phenomena in verbal communication, which increasinglyattracted the attention of linguistists. Discourse Representation Theory(DRT) proposedby Hans Kamp has dynamically resolved some surface anaphoras such as referentialanaphora, bound-variable anaphora, and E-type anaphora. These anaphoras confusedtraditional formal semanticists in a long term. Nonetheless, further research indicatesthat although DRT has successfully resolved some surface anaphoras, it fails to give aneffective interpretation to those types of deep-anaphora which require considerations ofpragmatic inferences. According these reasons,we build a new frame based on DRT andcognitive elements to illustrate more anaphoras such as bridging cross-referenceanaphora, lazy anaphora, ambiguous anaphora, and zero-pronoun anaphora. This newframe will make DRT to be used widely. |
