In the wave of globalization, the information technology revolution gave birth toa new means of modern diplomacy, cyber diplomacy. Since the date of its appearing,it has made an increasingly significant influence on the international community withits unique features. The United States has firstly begun to study the theory of cyberdiplomacy with their leading information and network technology. MeanwhileAmericans have positively made cyber diplomacy as an important component of theiroverall diplomatic strategy of the21st century, which has been taken advantage ofthroughout the world. By contrast, China seems to ignore the importance and urgencyof developing cyber diplomacy with hundreds of millions of network users. In recentyears, the United States has devoted greater efforts in cyber diplomacy against Chinain the trend of strategic eastward shift, while China’s cyber diplomacy development isproceeding step by step.Chinese missions in the United States and American missions in China are themain diplomatic enforcement agencies for each other,in fact both of which are muchdifferent in their own website whether in the form and content. In this paper, there aresome conclusions from comparative analyses of performances of both websites:China’s Cyber Diplomacy is single, fragmented and small-scaled in the form andinclined to the high level of political issues in the content, which is lack of interactionwith the audience in the same time; by contrast, the Americans attaches greatimportance to interact with netizens in the large scale and unified specificationformally and devotes same efforts to the high and low level of political issues.According to the comparison of both sides of performances of cyber diplomacythrough the website platform,the paper is also aimed to find the deep-seated causes ofthe bilateral practice differences in this paper and hopes initially to propose someadvice and methods to enhance China’s cyber diplomacy, based on the actual situationin China.
