The sixties of the20th century were great times for student movements,among which “May storm” in France was the most famous worldwide. This was afirst initiated by the students, and eventually lead to large-scale protest movement ofthe participation of all classes of society. Its criticism was directed at the core ofmodern civilization-traditional rationalism which derived a set of ideas and systemsabout man and society. The movement was characterized with a revolutionary formand tendency to discourse of anti-capitalist. It had extensive and profound impact onthe society and culture in Western developed countries, and ripple effect has existednow.This dissertation describes an overview of the left-wing ideology groups inpost-war France, focuses on the left-wing intellectuals leading the “May storm”,followed by a detailed analysis of a well-known left-wing thinkers (Sartre), two radicalleft-wing thought (Situationist and Maoist) case. Then, in order to study the relationbetween left-wing thought and the student movement, especially the trend ofthought in the movement, the dissertation clarifies the “May storm” movement’sprocess and student organizations as the main carrier of the left-wing thought, whichoccurred in the transitional period from the industrial society to the post-industrialsociety in Western developed capitalist countries after the World War II.The full text is always around this two problems: First, the point of view ofphilosophy, cultural theory, revolutionary thinking is how to evolve into socialthought?
