In2011, Egypt saw the large-scale protest, who became thesecond falling one in the domino of the Middle-East centralizationgovernment’s collapse, and also the fastest one after “JasmineRevolution”of Junisa and Arab Spring. It Squeezed the life out of theMubarak regime directly.The Egyptian working class played anindispensable role during this protest. From the aspects like thedevelopment history, political, economic and social situation of itsworking class, the paper tried to explore the key reason why theworking class could make such a big role, and made a summary of theproblems of the Egyptian working class during this protest andshowed some enlightenment toward its protest in the future.Besides the introduction and conclusion, the paper can be dividedinto five parts. The first one introduces the Egyptian working class’svital function caused by the turbulence of Egypt in2011, and alsomakes clear definitions of some concepts. The second part gives adeep analysis of the formation of the early Egyptian working class,pointing out the main source of the peasants, the members of theguild and the foreign immigrants. And the third part makes anotheranalysis of the emerging, development and function of Egyptian laborunion. It also provides a clear introduction of its development history from the end of19thcentury to the1970s, by taking the time as themain line, and includes the development situation and characters ofEgyptian labor movement. In terms of the fourth part, it expresses therelationship between the Egyptian working class and the socialturbulence since the Sadat’s period. Based on the summary andanalysis of Egyptian working movement since Sadat, this part showsan analysis of peasant’s immigrants’ influence on working class, anddiscusses the working class’s role in the aspects of economy, society,politics and religion etc. The last part is the summary of the problemsof the working class during the protest, and gives a brief outlook tothe trend of its development.
