A Study Of Political Participation Of China’s Contemporary College Students

“The Decision on Major Issues Concerning Comprehensively Deepening Reforms”, whichwas adopted at the close of the Third Plenary Session of the18th CPC Central Committee, pointsto the CPC should expand people’s orderly participation in governance at all levels and in allfields, and give full play to the strength of the socialist political system. Regarding of collegestudents, orderly participation in governance not only helping them achieve self political rightsto approach their work as the masters of the country that they are, but also enhance values abouttheir own life.Besides, in terms of countries, the future of our country and society importantlyrelies on college students, a scientific guide for their political participation will advance theprocess of democratization in political affairs and social harmony and stability.This research conducts a study of political participation of China’s contemporary collegestudents from six dimensionalities. From theoretical dimensionality, the research analyzesdomestic and overseas scholars’different definition of relevant concepts, and clarifies theconnotation of political participation of China’s contemporary college students. From realisticdimensionality, the research studies the macro、medium and micro views of the background ofpolitical participation of China’s contemporary college students, and uncovers the specialmeaning of political participation of college students; From historical dimensionality, theresearch reviews the development of political participation of college students since the May4thMovement, and forecasts the growing trend of political participation of college students; Frominternational dimensionality, the research gives a historical review and inspiration of politicalparticipation of American college students, and to provide historical reference for today’srelevant study; From subjectival dimensionality, the research focuses current situation ofpolitical participation of China’s contemporary college students from China’s politicalparticipation reports in these two year, and finds the deeper problems; From objectivedimensionality, the research leads important relevant objects of political participation of collegestudents with valid strategy and direction.
