American liberal trade policy, which was established by Reciprocal Trade AgreementsAct of1934, had been through nearly30years by the year of1962. The Trade ExpansionAct of1962was the last legislation of liberal trade of the United States, which hadpreliminarily revealed protectionist tendencies. This thesis introduces American tradepolicy and the basic situation of the world trade at that time, and makes an analysis of thebackgrounds and influences of The Trade Expansion Act of1962, and the meaning of theoriginal act contains. Based on the relatively systematic and specialized research, the thesisprovides a rather clear understanding about the act.Historical analysis is adopted in this thesis. Reviewing the related literature and works,and on the basis of historical materials, this thesis presents a relatively accurate positionand analysis of the act. In order to make research, the act is translated into Chinese.The Trade Expansion Act of1962indicates that America considers the problems ofworld trade in a calm and objective way, especially the trade issues between the Americaand his allies. The act plays an important role in the history of American foreign tradelegislation, which makes a deep influence not only on America but also on the world.
