In the first half of the20th century,the liberalism ideological trend in China has experienced several great ups and downs. Among all the big number of the liberals who were lived in the same moment,the leading role chosen in this paper,called Anping Chu,who has sufferd a quite different and outstanding life. As a liberal intellectual, his experience is universal,which presented a synchronization and rocky landscape,together with the development of liberalism in China. However, with both the dual identities of intellectuals independent journalists, his activities and his fate also had some certain particularities. How could AnPing Chu turned himself into a determined liberal from a young man who loved literature and accepted the liberalism budding step by step?How could he realized his social and political dreams in the practice of running independent newspapers? All these are worth being considered. And as an individual, who had a wide association with both the groups of intellectuals and newspapermen, AnPing Chu’s communication network must have some certain influence on the transformation of his thoughts and behaviors to some extent. In this paper, that is, from this perspective, the writer tries to start from this point,discussing that how AnPing Chu got his dreams come true through interactions with different groups in several important stages in his own life and news career, and under the different political environment and landscape, how the communication groups established by individuals will be affected and constrained in what degree.The main body of the article includes four chapters. In the first chapter, the writer started from defining the cultural kernel for liberalism. By analyzing the social and cultural foundation of the of liberalism in the western countries, in order to prove that,since the very beginning of the incoming of the liberalism, its nature and essence has had some degree of twist, which is the basic reason that why liberalism cannot always be just unfolding development in China. And what’s more,by crading the several important development stages of liberalism in China, leading to theprotagonist of his own life.The second chapter is mainly around the time which during the study in Guanghua University,Chu’s activities and association after accepted the liberalism ideological trend.Among them,the emotiong between teacher and student builded by Chu and Zhimo Xu,who was the representative of liberal intellectuals,and being an editor in the school magazine Guanghua Weekly became a foundation when Chu started his independent newspaperman career.The third chapter is the focus of this article section, as well as AnPing Chu’s personal experience peak, which is running independent newspaper as an independent newspaperman. Considered Guancha as a symbol,not only a liberal but also a paperman,Chu has played his two roles to an extreme, and gathered a large number of Chinese top scholars and experts during that period to build his own writers army.And folk newspapers in modern Chinese also ushered in the last time, is also the most brilliant on display at that time.The fourth chapter is mainly around the background that after the construction of the new regime in1949,the liberal was facing a dilemma, recording how Anping Chu went down from peak to silence step by step and during this process,his contacts between communist party and the democratic parties. And finally, with leaving the position of the main editor of Guangming Daily, the position of editor in chief, Chu’s career as a liberalism newspaperman has come to its end.With the changing of social and political environment, AnPing Chu’s contacts with different groups also naturally presents a dynamic change trend in the different stages of his career.And in return, these changes also had some more or less impacts on Chu’s personal decisions and judgements in all phases.How associations promote or hinder the development of journalism, and how journalism development put new energy into contacts? All these are the author is trying to pursue and show in this paper.
