As the country which has a higher degree of economic and political development in the world, the United States has received extensive attention all over the world, because of its unique characteristics and advantages,the American political system become the object which other countries investigate, study and draw lessons from. The Presidential Electoral System is an important political system in the United States, the presidential election is an major event in American political life, every presidential election is the focus of world attention and discussion, it provides an important platform for us to comprehend and grasp the American political dynamic. The2012presidential election was seen as the election which determine the American development direction and fate, it was an important choice of American domestic development, and became the focus of debate all over the world. The U.S. presidential election is influenced by many factors, religion, race, gender and the news media play a different degree influence in the process of presidential election. Presidential campaign is the key area of the two parties competition, political party is also an important factor which affect the presidential election, the Democratic Party and Republican Party are founded for the election, presidential election is the main goal of the two parties competition, the two parties support their candidates through all kinds of ways in order to win the election victory. This paper takes the2012presidential election as the analysis object, inspects the main impacts and the new features of the political party in the presidential campaign. This paper is divided into four parts, the first part is the introduction, summaries the background and significance of the topic of this paper, the research status on the U.S. presidential election and party at home and abroad, puts forward the research ideas and methods in this paper, finally, defines the main concepts involved in this paper; The second part expounds the parties and the presidential election in the United States, combs the party’s historical development and its characteristics, defines the formation, procedure of the U.S. presidential election system and its characteristics, clarifies the main performance of the parties’impact on the presidential election, including affect the Democratic Party’s Presidential Nomination, provide funding support for the candidate and assist the candidates acquire voters’support etc.; The third part takes the2012U.S. presidential election as the empirical analysis object, studies the impact of the two parties in the presidential election, describes the impact of the Democratic and Republican in the Democratic Party’s Presidential Nomination in the2012U.S. presidential election, the two parties use their influence to provide funding support for presidential candidates, use value proposition to influence their candidates set different platforms to attract voters, provide party identification to strive for voters, provide the strategic support by organizing grassroots campaign, encouraging voters to vote; The fourth part interprets new features of the impacts of political parties in the presidential race, the influence of the political party in the Democratic Party’s Presidential Nomination weaken, the role and fund-raising mode of the political party has changed, political parties alter their strategy and emphasis to assist the candidates. Meanwhile, analyzes the causes of the new features of political parties’ impacts in the presidential election, mainly including the economic and social development cause changes in the campaign situation, the reform of the Presidential Primary System and Campaign Finance System change the impact of the political parties on the Democratic Party’s Presidential Nomination and campaign funds, the changes of voters’ structure and campaign situation affect the party’s strategies and emphasis to assist the candidates. Affected by the American loose party group, during the presidential campaign, the National Party Committee is more active, the impact of local party organizations is relatively weak, but the National Party Committee use its influence to support state party organizations, implementing federal and local cooperation and interaction, promoting the success of presidential campaign finally. By investigating the performance and changes of the impacts of the political parties in2012U.S. presidential campaign, we can learn more about the new trends in the American presidential campaign, grasp the running status of American politics, in order to study and draw lessons from the reasonable factors in the American political system.
