Study On The Elements Of Decision Relocate To Elderly Homes And Life Satisfaction

With the rapid development of China’s social and economic, degree of aging gradually deepened, the traditional model of family pension is facing enormous challenges.The single family support is far from being able to meet the elderly’s needs.Therefore,in advance of the socialization of social welfare,speeding up the socialization of caring for the aged to further improve our country’s welfare system is of great urgency.This research found outsome basic information and characteristics about the elderly who tend to voluntarily relocate to the elderly home for the elderly persons by a survey in x elderly home For the Aged in Wuhan. The logic of how they make the decision to live in and life satisfaction were also discussed. Based on these, the situation of the elderly homes in China would be more clear, hence, it might provide some scientific basis and reliable reference for the authorities who concerned to improve the work of old-age care. Through a questionnaire and some face-to-face interviews, the mixed research method was utilized to pursue an abroad and in-depth exploration on the research topic. Figure and tables were made from the results from those primary data. In addition, findings from the press comments also will be used for further analyzing.Finally,suggestions to elderly homes,the staff,and future research are proposed.
