"Song of Grassland", a popular genre of music in Inner Mongolia and even in China as whole, has not been researched in terms of its contents and subjects in depth so far. This paper explores the songs of the type in perspective of cultural anthropology, precisely in point of view of internal orientalism, with focus on the relationship of the society, audience and the state(government) around performance of the music genre in contemporary Inner Mongolia, China.This paper consists of introduction, text(three chapters), conclusion, references, as well as the appendix etc.The introduction mainly narrates the selected topic, the selected topic reason, the research situation, research purpose and significance and research method and innovation, etc. This paper expounded how the " songs of grassland" defined and spread in the public culture, how to show the thought or the figure from the lyric content and also gave three different social application as official entertaining, Ulaanmuchir performances, banquets etc. The "representation" theory and the " being representation" national culture were studied retrospectively. Conclution briefly summarizes the main ideas of the paper, and attach the access of the materials which author in the reached in the field. |
