Classroom video analysis method is now becoming one of the most effective ways of auxiliary helping teachers understand classroom and improve their professional teaching skills. The domestic and foreign research situation shows that classroom video plays an important role in reflective teaching, microteaching as well as classroom performance analysis. At present, in the teaching field there are already varieties of software focus to analysis of teaching video. Different software have their own characteristics and at the same time with certain limitations. This research is trying to use a qualitative data analysis software-Nvivo to analyze classroom video.First of all, the article proves that the software is applicable to the analysis of classroom video by both quantitative and qualitative observation methods. It concludes corresponding operation modes with two kinds of classroom observation ways and sums up video analysis process through using Nvivo.And then, in order to help the analysis from practical significance, this paper selects the classroom of information science and technology discipline in a central primary school of Jing An District as a case study. It compares the difference between classroom assessment in traditional way and using Nvivo software respect through shooting classroom video, the teacher evaluating classroom assessment gauges, analyzing the results of questionnaire fulfilled by teachers and students after class, etc. Finally, the paper also improves software analysis process taking teachers’ suggestions into account.Research finds Nvivo has strong applicability for classroom video analysis. Many observed items can use Nvivo software to obtain better interpretive analysis of either quantitative or qualitative observation. Hope that the study and the conclusion of this paper can provide some reference suggestions for classroom video case production and related research in the future.
