Research On Teacher-student Communication In Primary And Secondary School Counseling Agencies

Communication between teachers and students has played an important role in the research on the relationship between teachers and students. Theoretic and empirical studies that have been widely researched by scholars have given many opinions and suggestions toward the problems in the communication between teachers and students in our country. However, there are very few research can provide any evidence to the communication between teachers and students in the educational counseling agencies that out of school.Based on the research achievements, with the combination approaches of questionnaire and interviews, this thesis has researched the communication between teachers and students in Shanghai S counseling agency.Firstly, this thesis defines and distinguishes the relative concepts, then analyzes the present situation of communication between teachers and students in S counseling agency. After that, the motivation, forms and contents of communication are analyzed according to the data. Finally, this thesis analyzes the conclusion, and gives some advices for public school on communication between teachers and students.The result of the research shows that, firstly, the present communication between teachers and students in S counseling agency is appropriate. The satisfaction in general is high. Students are willing to communicate with teachers in the agency. Secondly, it is students’personal factors that decided the motivation to communicate with the teachers, rather than the parents’. There is no obvious difference was found on the gender of teachers. Thirdly, students prefer communicate with teachers alone. Fourthly, students like to communicate with teachers in knowledge and emotion and they are more willing to communicate with the female teachers.The analysis of communication between teachers and students in S counseling agency gives some advices for the teacher management and individual teachers in public schools. The communication between teachers and students can be boosted by reducing the size of class, setting up the service consciousness and strengthening the training.
