Effective classroom lead-in is capable of attracting students’attention, and helping them to enter the lesson rapidly. It can arouse students’interests and their thirst for knowledge strongly; in favor of making them do the preparation well for the new points in following lesson, and engender the learning expectation. The students would know the learning aims clearly through the classroom lead-in, and build up the relationship between the old and new knowledge, create the active classroom atmosphere. Although it does not last too long, lead-in can help students to start the lessons in their best situation quickly.In order to make the teachers and educators pay their attention to using classroom lead-in of the senior high school can affect students’involvement in class by the real case, the author conducts a research in Dawa Senior High School of Panjin City in Liaoning Province for3months and it contains122students and1teacher. The research is carried out according to three questions:whether the teachers lead in English lessons by some designed and suitable lead-ins in senior high school and what kind of lead-in strategies do they usually use; whether the students can be attracted attention and involve the class actively; whether the lead-in in English class for senior high school is efficient. Through the interviews, questionnaires and classroom observation the author analyze the data and demonstrate that proper classroom lead-in does can attract students’attention well in class, mobilize their positiveness during the lesson. They would take notes carefully and answer the questions actively and accurately.Thus it can be seen there are some positive effects on students’involvement in class after lead-in step of senior high school, and the author believes that the research will surely help other English teachers improve the quality of English teaching.
