A Study On The Coninuing Education Of Femal Intellectuals In The Age Of Knowledge Economy

In the era of knowledge economy, the conception of life-long education is very popular. And the continuing education which is the main part of the life-long education manifiests its importance increasely. But in practice, the continuing education is usually carried out on the same criteria neglecting the gender factors. Thus, the contiuning education of the female intellectuals is hindered, it also will hamper the further development of the femal resources in the era of economy.Based on the theories of Marxist development of women, continuing education, female science, and psychology, the thesis makes an inquirement into the problem of the continuing education of the female intellectuals at an angle of female study, by using the research methods such as literature reviewing. First, the author makes an analysis of the necessity and possibility of the continuing education of female intellectuals, then, explores the problems existed and the causes of them according to the current situation of the continuing education of the female intellecthals, and finally, seeks some solutions to the problems.The thesis is composed of three chapters.In chapter one, the author discusses the relationships among knowledge economy, continuing education and female intellectuals. The knowledge economy is challanging the development of the female intellectuals, and it also calls for the continuing education. The female intellectuals must accept the continuing education in face of the challenges. And in the era of economy, the continuing education of female intellectuals is not only necessary but also possible.In chapter two, the author analyses the favourable situation and existed problems of the continuing education of female intllectuals nowadays in China, explores the causes of the problems. At present, the nummber of female intellectuals goes up increasingly, and at the same time, the continuing education of female intllectuals is extended, especially the senior female intellectuals show great passion in learning. But on the other hand, people’s misunderstandings of the continuing education of the female intellectuals still exists, and in practice, there are also some problems. The main causes are the restrictions of both traditional gender idea and the main trend of the male’s sense. And the pressure of the female intellectuals’multi-roles and their own decreased motivation of self-development are also influenting factors.In chapter three, the author puts forwards some strategies of the continuing education of the female intellectuals. In the era of knowledge economy, to organize a systerm of continuing education of female intellectuals, both requirements of the female intellectuals themseves and the ecomy development of the society. The continuing education contents must embody the characteristics of the female intellectuals, and the ways must be flexible and varied. At the same time, to carry out the continuing education of female intellectuals, the old ideas should be changed to make better atmosphere for the continuing education of female intellectuals, and it is necessary to provide policy protection.
