Confucius is one of the greatest thinkers in Chinese history, whose thought exerts great impact upon the later generations. His physical education ideology and speech are a significant part among all of his thought and runs through the various aspects of our daily life. Thus how to sort out and excavate his physical education ideology and speech can be beneficial to reveal the richness of his thought. Optimistically, there are many studies on the sport thoughts and speech of Confucius, which further enrich the study of Confucian thought. Nevertheless, among the existing studies and researches of Confucius Sports ideological and speech, there are still some serious errors or inaccuracies. Therefore, the exploration and interpretation of the Confucius’Sports ideology and speech are of great importance, both theoretically and practically. The present study adopts these methods like literature review, historical researches and specialist interviews to do a systemic research on the Confucius physical education ideology. With regard to the inappropriateness and misreading of the sports thoughts of Confucius, the author explores these concepts like "Six Skills","Six Scriptures", the aims of sports education, the attitudes towards "Wen" and "Wu","There is no competition among "junzi","The humane are quiet"," The humane are long-lived""Being master of the six arts", and "Bravery" etc. Thought the exploration of the thoughts and speech of Confucius, the author conduct a more systematic study on the re-Sports Thoughts of Confucius. The results in the current study show that:(1) in the teaching’s term, Confucius regards the "Six arts" rather than the "Six scriptures" as the main part, but we cannot take it granted that Confucius has no thinking on the sports, in that the education of etiquette in Li and the education about "Wen" and "Wu" in Yue both contain strong sports factors.(2) The direct aim for Confucius to carry out physical education serves for the "Ren" and "etiquette" instead of improving physical and mental health in modern education.(3) As for the attitudes towards "Wen"nd "Wu", Confucius lays stress on both sides instead of belittling "Wu".(4)"There is no competition between junzi " puts more emphasis on the rational competition between junzi on the premise of "Ren" and "etiquette" rather than brutal competition. There is no denying of competition or sports.(5)Confucius advocates ways of keeping fit which works both in stillness and movement."Stillness" in "the humane are quiet" is the reflection of the inner world of the human rather than the idea of keeping fit through stillness or emphasizing "stillness"."The humane are long-lived" is not the result of keeping fit through stillness but the outcome of observing "etiquette" in behavior norms and moral cultivation.(6) The "Yi" in" Being master of the six arts " refers to the six scriptures rather than the six arts."You" here does not mean games or entertainment but a kind of spiritual freedom which can be gained through a mastery of the crafts and the classic works under the framework of "Ren" and "etiquette".(7) The "Bravery" in the Analects of Confucius cannot be categorized into the sports. Confucius puts stresses on the bravery of philosophical connotations, which belongs to the category of ethics.
