The individual’s mental health is not only related to personal growth, but also with the future and destiny of our country, as a student, classroom education and subject learning affect the level and the degree of their mental quality directly. Specific to the foreign language teaching, the mental quality education can be embodied in many aspects of teaching, arousing the enthusiasm of students, cultivating their confidence, willpower, optimistic attitude towards life. The students of good mental quality will maintain interest and motivation on English learning, and take the initiative to control the whole process of learning. Mental quality of students is the basis of English teaching, and English teaching provides platform to mental quality education.The full text is divided into six parts:The first part described the background and research issues, which including three basic aspects, background, significance and methods of research.The second part discussed the basis study, which including the general trend of international foreign language curriculum reform, the international background of senior high school English curriculum reform, the situation of high school English teaching in China, and the significance of students’ mental quality education as well as previous studies overview.The third part discussed the relationship between English teaching and mental quality education.1. Students’ mental quality is the foundation of English teaching;2. English teaching provides the platform for the mental education.The fourth part discussed the theoretical basis of mental quality embodied in the teaching of foreign languages.1. Humanism and a foreign language teaching;2. Subject teaching embody and the education of mental quality;3. The Affective Filter Hypothesis of Krashen.The fifth part has carried on in the middle-school student English study the emotion psychological factor questionnaire and the case investigation study, provides more supports and the basis for this research.The sixth part discussed the strategies and reflection of mental quality embodied in middle school English teaching.1. Factor analysis of mental quality education embodied in English Teaching in middle school;2. The strategies of mental quality education embodied in English Teaching in middle school;3. Reflection.
