《The opinions of the central committee of the communist party of China and the state council on furthering strengthening and improving the ideological and political education of college students》 stresses,must make efforts to strengthen and improve the ideological and political education,to enhance the ideological and political quality of college students,in order to train them to become the builders and the masters of our country.In the new century,to enhance the ideological and political education of college students,we must find the right way and the carrier,the voluntary service is an important carrier for the ideological and political education.Compared to others carriers,The student Volunteer Service as an important carrier,what are the main functions of it?how to effectively carry out the Voluntary Service activities?The questions are of important theoretical practical issues.This paper tries to research systematically,hoping to can promote the progress of this project.Besides the introduction,the article includes three parts.The first part,based on the meaning and characteristics of the volunteers service activities,The paper proves the proposition which on the volunteers service activities is the ideological and political education carrier.The second part,the paper discusses mainly functions of the ideological and political education of the volunteers service activities.This activities can improve the college students" moral level;they can help the students to know the society,set up rational social responsibility;they can strengthen the subject consciousness of the college students;they can build harmonious and healthy interpersonal relationship.The third part,the paper puts forward to the thoughts that make use of the functions of the ideological and political education of the volunteers service activities.To strengthen the organization guidance of the volunteers service activities,make it development orderly;to pay attention to the ideological and moral construction of the volunteers service activities,make it play a better effect on college students’moral guide;to improve the mechanism of the volunteers service activities;to establish the assessment mechanism of the volunteers service activities,in order to stimulate college students’subject consciousness;to enhance the environmental construction of voluntary organizations,create a good growth environment for college students.
