In the past, adults often help the children to commemorate and honor their growth through some kind of ceremony. However, nowadays, rites of initiation that hold by schools, families and community are always simple and formalized, so its function is far less than that before. Most of them are just "ceremonies". If adult rituals disappeared, its true function will fade away too. Now we may easily found some alternative behavior in our teenagers’ life, such as smoking, violence, tattoos, etc. To some extent, it also has the same function of the rituals. The system of adult rites had been vanished, but the function of the alternative behavior has remained in the social activities. We may easily find that teenagers often try all kinds of new things out of curiosity. We adults are often puzzled by their talk, work, and act. During a long period of practice, I got many opportunities to contact with teenagers, and I found that for most teenagers, they choose tattoo to prove their existence and growth. Of course, teenage tattoo is against the mainstream values. Tattoo teenagers are normally be considered as problem behaviors and deviation behavior. However, I think that tattoo teenagers are in order to show their maturity, personality and active growth power. Although teenagers tattoo is not being approved by us adults, it has its deep meaning behind it. Even though they often express their abilities not through regular channels, but the implicit performance. There must be a tenacious vitality and the power of growth behind the pain. Therefore, this study attempts to illustrate hidden resilience behind teenagers’ tattoo and find out the cause and motivation of adolescent tattoo, which aims at giving constructive, positive suggestions to the tattoo teenagers and the adults and expecting them to grow in a positive way.
