A Study On The Construction Of College Hidden Culture

Being an internal characteristic of a college, the hidden culture of a college is an important factor in the educational systems of the institutions of higher learning. It is fostered by the school cultures, traditions and spirits. Being everywhere, it covers all the ranges of campus life. It educates, molds and even edifies the college students, becoming one of the important environmental factors for the college student' s maturity. Studies on the construction of the college-hidden culture are of great help for the present college education reform in China. It is the advanced school-running ideas and the academic thoughts of the staff, especially the prominent professors that form a college-hidden cultural "field" . With the help of the staffs' belief, spirits and value forming in the long-termed educational practice, Chinese colleges and universities should establish a sound and active hidden culture of their own characteristics, based on a school cultural atmosphere permeated by scientific spirits and humanism and on the campus environment, their histories, the school regulations, and the school songs well as. It is of vital importance to strengthen hidden culture construction aninstitutions of higher learning and build a fine and activehidden culture environment, which is beneficial for the students' healthy maturity and the realization of educational cultivation goals in colleges and universities.This thesis attempts to probe into the hidden culture of Chinese institutions of higher learning theoretically and practically. It suggests a design of constructing a sound hidden- cultural atmosphere, promoting researches on the college-hidden culture to be a practical matter taken into consideration by college staffs.The whole thesis is divided into three parts:The first part is concerned about the basic problems on the college hidden culture such as its concepts, natures, characteristics, functions as well as the factors effecting its formation and so on.The second part presents the present situation of college hidden culture, analyzes the difficulties and probes into the significance of constructing college-hidden culture.The third part suggests some detail design on how to construct college-hidden culture.
