Ever since the reform and opening up policy was carried out, although the elementary education reform in our country has made some achievements, the overall level is still not high enough. In order to meet the needs of the development nowadays, the Ministry of Education launched a new round of reform in elementary education curriculum, issuing "The outline of elementary education curriculum (trial-implementation)". It requires regarding the comprehensive practical activities as one of the obligatory curriculum, which includes IT education, research-based study, community service, social practice as well as labor and technology education. In2003, the Ministry of Education issued "The curriculum standard of math in general high schools (Standard for short mentioned below)", which brought in the "research-based study" as a new form of study to the courses in senior high schools, aiming to "set up students’ rigorous attitudes towards science as well as their spirits of never fearing difficulty","foster students’habits of questioning bravely and self-reflecting","develop students’innovative awareness and practical ability". As the education system of Inner Mongolia commenced the new curriculum reform, every senior high school is trying their best to make adaptation rapidly in order to make promotion in their own education. The mathematic teachers are faced with a new challenge of how to carry out research-based study in math more efficiently. This thesis applies the learning methods into the classes of the Inner Mongolian NO.2middle school, by studying on the historical researches, the documentary researches, the comparative studies and the case studies, and taking advantage of the achievements from the study in both domestic sources and ways abroad. By instructing students how to choose the project of research, how to make research plan and how to carry out the plan, as well as by studying the characteristics of local schools and students of different levels, the thesis studies on how teachers implement research-based study more efficiently. Detailed contents as follows:The preface is presented in the first section, illustrating the significance of this thesis, and summarizing the status quo of study at home and abroad, as well as the study methods and innovation within the thesis involved. The second section is where the overview of the research studying theory is positioned. The definition is given in the first place in this section, including research, research-based study and the content of research-based study in math. Based on the comparison among research study, receptive learning, discovery learning and inquiry learning, this section puts forward the characteristics of research-based study in math--open, zetetic and practical. In the third section, the survey on the present implementation of the research-based study in the senior high schools is explored. The author did a survey of stratified sampling towards the students of grade one to three in the Inner Mongolian NO.2middle school and a survey of the same formation to all the faculty within the school, trying to dig out the situation of the implementation of the research-based study in the school and the understanding and view of the research-based study both from teachers and students. The forth section states the implementation of the research-based study in mathematic fields. The implementation of the research-based study in the mathematic lesson of "The application of progression in installment" is analyzed with the help of case study, combined with the result from the survey in the third section, which provides instructive suggestions for teachers who are going to implement research-based study in future.
