Before modern society, liberal education has been the mainstream of Western education. Aristotle is the first one proposes the idea of liberal education and practice patterns, and lays the foundation of Western liberal education. As society changes and education reforms, the meaning of liberal education gradually evolved from liberal education into liberal arts education. Then affected by science and technology, liberal education was quiet. After World War â…ˇ, it re-appears with the recovery of humanism in general education in the university curriculum. Affected by globalization and internationalization, many colleges and universities in our country have increased the general education curriculum, in order to innovate personnel training mode. However, many researchers diachronic the meaning of the concept, resulting in a deviation from the practice of liberal education philosophy. Specifically, this paper is to analyze the following four aspects of liberal education diachronic rheology, which highlights liberal education in different historical context each have the freedom to liberal, liberal and other means in order to pass our colleges and universities theoretical knowledge to provide support for educational practice.1. Analysis:paper first analyzes three typical modes of General Education in Chinese Universities-Yuan Pei experiments, Fudan College and liberal arts colleges-the characteristics and problems, the fundamental reason lies in the concept of liberal education.2. Concept Analysis:Papers by liberal education diachronic analysis of this concept, highlighting the different periods of liberal education in theoretical discourse and practice patterns of similarities and differences. Among them, the main goal of liberal education is to cultivate free man; liberal arts education is mainly to develop a gentleman; Liberal mainly to cultivate modern citizens. Although the culture is very different from the target, but three kinds of practice patterns have emphasized rationality and knowledge.3. Analysis:This chapter focuses on analysis of China into the theory and practice of general education dilemma History and practical reasons. On the one hand, the guiding ideology of science and technology has led to lighter weight management culture of university status, resulting in the loss of the University of humanism; the other hand, in the context of market-oriented, liberal education university abandoned the truth contained in the pursuit, only emphasized the pursuit of efficiency.4. The solution:the face of China General dilemma exists, the chapter on the theory and practice tried to propose some solutions. On the one hand, we want to various theories about liberal education to do more in-depth analysis of discourse; the other hand, we should learn from the West in general education mode while strengthening the localization of Liberal Studies.
