Study English, American And New Zealand Primary And Secondary School Art Teacher Education Model

This paper studies the technology teacher education models in primary and secondary schools among the UK, USA and New Zealand.The paper is divided into five chapters.The first chapter defines the concept of technology,technology education and general technology education,explores the differences and linkage between technology education and other related concepts.Then the paper describes the background and current situation of research on technology education and technology teacher education internationally and introduces the aims and purposes of this paper.Based on the investigation of the technology education and teacher education in primary and secondary schools among the UK, USA and New Zealand, chapter two to chapter four analyze The Concurrent Models and The Alternative Consecutive Models(which include Professional Graduate Certificate in Education,School-based Model and Employment-based Model)of Technology Teacher Education in the UK;the Traditional Four-Year Model, Split Faculty Model,Fifth Year Model, Masters/Licensure Model and Alternative Licensure Models of Technology Teacher Education in USA; Primary Teacher Education, Secondary Teacher Education and Graduate Education in New Zealand.Considering the technology teacher education experience of the three countries and the present situation in our country, chapter five put forwards five suggestions:to establish teaching majors of general technology in colleges and universities; To develope of technology teacher education courses; to establish the general technology teacher standards and assessment system,to develop a distance trainning model and the education department shall provid guidance and support to promote the development of technology teacher education.
