The teacher is the key factor of curriculum reform in the elementary educationcurriculum reform, facing the challenge of knowledge economy in21st century,science and education has received widespread attention in the recent wave ofcurriculum reform. That many changes in science education from the target to theteaching process, methods, and materials and so on put forward new requirementsfor teacher training. In-service teachers’ stage is the longest and most importantteachers professional development phase. The training for promoting the in-serviceteacher professional development has become a hot issue in the field of moderneducation, it causes the widespread concern of the whole country. The current juniormiddle school science teachers in training theory research and practical explorationis also results, we can find that teachers in training still exist problems to be solved.This research mainly adopts the literature, questionnaire survey, interviews etc.we choose60junior high school science teachers from Xuhui District, HuangpuDistrict, Qingpu and Luwan District of Shanghai City as the investigation objects, andwe investigated the junior high school science teacher training after the statusincluding teachers of vocational training after the attention and participation,participation motivation, teachers training mode, evaluation methods, influencefactors, to participate in the training mode, and the training content. Then we findproblems existing in the current junior high school science teacher training inShanghai city, the age, job title, qualifications structure are more reasonable, butthe workload and work pressure are too large, the sex ratio is imbalance; teachershave a more accurate understanding of occupational, highlights for their own qualityand the ability to enhance the motivation to participate, but the related policies andsystems yet to be improved; the organizational model for school-based training formof teaching is "the expert seminar report type, evaluation methods as" summative ".Engineering contradictions and the training effect are the main factors restricting thecurrent of teachers to participate in vocational training. And give the conclusion andsuggestions which provide a basis for the improvement and perfection of the junior high school science teacher training in Shanghai city work.This research suggests that the junior middle school science teachers trainingwork is still in development and exploration at present in Shanghai. On the one hand,science teachers subjective reasons include science teachers insufficientunderstanding of post-career training work, and the deviation between theexpectation and the actual on professional training. On the other hand, trainingobjective problems including the lack of training resources, training content with theneeds of teachers, training evaluation method is too simple for the teachers havelittle incentive eventually resulted in training effectiveness is not strong. Aiming atthe above problems, according to the survey results with reference to the relevantliterature, to improve and perfect the junior high school science teacher training inShanghai, the author offers several suggestions:(1) to relieve the contradictions between job and study of junior middle schoolscience teachers.(2) to optimize the training mode and organization mode.(3) to strengthen the construction of teachers in the training of policy securitysystem.(4) to change "want me to training" for "Im going to training" to encourage theteachers to a road of development.
