Classical Chinese is one of the greatest cultural heritages of the Chinese nation.It plays an irreplaceable role in the inheritance of Chinese civilization and isa spiritual wealth that we should keep passing down from generation to generation.Increased attention has been paid in developing the Classical Chinese competenceof our junior high school students, which must rely on accessorial study after theformal school day. This paper analyzed the current situation of extracurricularClassical Chinese study in junior high school through student questionnaires,examination papers analysis and teacher/student one-on-one interviews. The feedbackwe received revealed several discomforting problems, especially the unorganizeddisordered learning phenomenon among students. In this study, we propose terminatingthe extracurricular Classical Chinese study for junior high school students, to fitthe regular pattern of students’ psychological development, the intrinsic law ofClassical Chinese study and the diversity of study methodology.The first chapter of this thesis analyzed the research background of serializationof extracurricular Classical Chinese study in junior schools, addressed the mainproblems existed in of extracurricular Classical Chinese study, and discussed thesignificance of serialization of extracurricular Classical Chinese study as well.The second chapter primarily interpreted the practicability of the serializationof extracurricular Classical Chinese study in junior schools. In the third chapter,based on the seeking of the practicability of serialization of extracurricularClassical Chinese study, we carried out our action research of attempting classifiedsimple and easy Classical Chinese study after school from three dimensions, whichincluding serializing the knowledge system, type of writing and emotionalconnotation of extracurricular Classical Chinese. For the serialization study, weinterpreted the reason of selections, enumerated the cases in teaching practiceactivities and the concrete operating procedures of some of the cases. In the fourthchapter of this paper, we summarized the acquired experience of developing theserialization of extracurricular Classical Chinese study in junior high schools.
