Status And Strategic Research Of Luoyang Square Dance

With the improvement of people’s subjective consciousness and the sense ofparticipation, and square culture activities carry out extensive, square dance isconcerned and paid attention by the community, becomes an indispensable form andcontent of the city culture life. As a newly developing popular sport, the relevantresearches are started lately, and its theoretical foundation is weak, there is norelatively uniform definition and concept about the square dance now. This paper usesthe methods of literature material, the questionnaire survey, and interviews,mathematical statistics and so on to do the theoretical and empirical study of thecurrent situation and exiting problems of Luoyang’ square dance. The result of thestudy shows that: currently, most of the people participated in the square dance arewomen. Participants covered a large age span, mainly in the elderly, the small numberof young people. The Participants’ education level are generally low, most of them aremiddle school educated. The time of carrying out the square dance is mainlyconcentrated in the evening, the duration of the exercise is reasonable and theintensity is moderate. Participants’ main motivation is because they want to provetheir physical fitness and prevent diseases, and most of the participants have changeda lot in physical、mental and social adaptability. The related training about squaredance is not enough in Luoyang, and there is no fixed competition format set forsquare dance. In carrying out the process of square dance training, people encounteredproblems such as venues and facilities condition backward, lack of professionalinstructors and specialized training institutions, scientific training level is low; Noisenuisance and shortage of funds, the rules and regulations in the square dance teambuilding are not consummated. Based on the analysis of Luoyang market developmenton the basis of the above problems, put forward the corresponding solutions andstrategies for future development. The purpose of this study is to provide a referencefor the development and improvement of Luoyang City Square Dance, to promote andachieve the better development of Luoyang city square dance, achieve the goal of truenational fitness and health.
