In Kunming, there is such a group of people who wait for employers everyday in a fixed place, and do some temporary work without fixed workload, work schedule or work place. The employment is irregular; furthermore, workers face some risk of occupational safety and rights violation. But such journey work exists for a long time, so it is worthwhile to explore the reasons.This paper picked out a typical journey work market in Kunming, WangJiaqiao Village job market. According to the life course theory, using in-depth interviews and participant observation method, this paper analysis journey works’lives and working conditions, etc., exploring their work occupation flow of personal reasons and external reasons and the future career development planning. Last, we consider the appropriate method of social work intervention.
