This thesis uses the methodology of folklore and the perspective of feminology to study Yugur female cultural inheritors. Male and female have different inheritance modes and characteristics. The thesis analyses the status and role of Yugur women by historic, synchronic and present perspectives. I found that Yugur women became the strong power of cultural inheritance because of their higher status in society and family. Meanwhile, governmental policy and confirmation of public improve Yugur women status.At the first, the introduction expresses reason why I study Yugur female cultural inheritors. The chapter includes research methodology, research idea, research theories and relevant research achievements to this topic.The first chapter describes Sunan Yugur Anonymous County’s natural environment, history and culture. Modern Yugur have three characteristics: Yugur are provided with unique regional features, Yugur religion belief tends to religion secularization from belief reduction to belief revival, Yugur very value education and they have open mind to modern society. This chapter sketches an emotional impression of Yugur as well.The second chapter summarizes all intangible heritages of Yugur. It depends on two shapes:oral literature and handicraft. I use the perspective of cultural feminism and writing ways of oral history to contribute the life space of Yugur female inheritors. They are:Du Xiulan, Zhong Yuzhen, Guo Jinlian, Guo Yulian, Ke Cuiling, Bai Xiaoqin, Yang Haiyan, etc. They take up80%ratio of whole Yugur female inheritors.The third chapter acts an important role in this thesis. It is combined with women studies most. At the first, I put forward that some studies of Yugur women status have problems because they use special marriage modes as study basis."Marriage pattern of erecting tent pole" and "marriage pattern of changing waistband" is the consequence of acculturation with surrounding ethnic groups and underdeveloped productivity, not remains of matriarchy. I think special marriage modes just are the seeming reason to higher status of Yugur women. Virtually, the nomadic nature is the real. Nomadic women occupy a large number of production means, so they own a higher status. In the end, I analyze the mutual interaction between women status and inheritor identity. I put forward that three reasons cause higher status of Yugur women:special marriage modes in the past, nomadic nature and confirmation of inheritor identity.The last chapter is a functional one. I analyze the characteristics of Yugur female inheritors; include perfection of inheritance mechanism and awareness, participation in ritual folklore inheritance system gradually, main way of inheritance still around family, younger inheritors and shorter study period, etc. At last, I suggest some protection measures to Yugur female inheritors. E.g., we should take action to prevent the lost of ethnical language, train inheritors by modern technology, provide them more chances to perform, powerful subsidy, etc.
