A large number of studies have shown different attachment representation (attachment style) corresponds to different emotion regulation strategies. Although there are differences between conscious and unconscious aspects in attachment representationon, previous studies put much attention to discuss the relationship between explicit attachment representation and emotion regulation, ignoring the relationship between unconscious representation of attachment and emotion regulation. In order to further explore how the consciousness of attachment representation affect the emotion regulation strategies, this research adopted the Experience in Close Relationship Scale(ECR) and Implicit Association Test (IAT), respectively as a measurement method for the explicit and implicit special-relationship attachment representation, and Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ) is adopted to measure one’s emotion regulation strategies. This research recruited423college students (study one123, study two300) by stratified random sampling method. The following conclusions:1. The preoccupied individuals, who have inconsistent special-relationship representation in implicit and explicit tests, had no significant differences in attachment anxiety, however significant differences in attachment avoidance. Dismissing individuals did not have significant differences in attachment anxiety and avoidance no matter consistent or inconsistent of implicit-explicit representation of special-relation attachment.2. Preoccupied individuals, in the face of negative emotions, the individuals who have consistent Implicit-explicit special-relationship representation, have more ignore strategies. In the face of positive emotion, the individuals who have inconsistent Implicit-explicit special-relationship representation, have put more attention to the emotion, but less inhibition strategies. The more preoccupied scores, the greater negative emotions the consistents will amplify, and the the greater positive emotions the inconsistents will amplify.3. Dismissing individuals, the inconsistents are more inclined to adopt ignoring strategies when in the face of negative emotions, and expressing strategies for the positive emotions. The more dismissing scores, the more inhibition of negative emotions the consistents and inconsistents group will have, however, the consistent groups have more ignoring strategies for the negative emotions, which the inconsistents do not in this trend. The consistents and inconsistents had less inhibition of negative emotions. The consistent group, however, have more ignoring strategies for positive emotion.
