| This study aims to master the research situation of Master and Doctoral DissertationResearch in the volleyball field and provide practical references for the future VolleyballGraduate. This study, by analyzing the Chinese Volleyball Master and Doctoral Dissertationfrom2002to2012, summarized its research hotspots and weaknesses from the direction ofdissertation topics, the object of study, research content, research methods, research reference,statistical literature, the nature of the content, meanwhile, and summed up factors (bothobjectives and subjectives) which impact dissertation quality.There are main four research methods, literature data, expert interviews, andmathematical statistics, logic analysis and other research methods, after analyzing them, thisstudy mainly draws the following conclusions and propose the correspondingcountermeasures:1. The number of the Doctoral thesis in the field of volleyball during2002-2012had overallincreasing trend and it became stable since2007.2. Research objects cover a wide range. It centers on volleyball league (especially theOlympic Games, World Championships and other major competitions), efficientvolleyball, volleyball skills and tactics.3. There are many research methods, but the following three methods are used morefrequently-literature data, statistics and survey, especially literature which used morethan95%. Most of them used4or5kinds of research methods.4. Among534degree thesis, a large proportion of thesis belongs to applied research,especially in master degree, while basic research thesis is less and research depth alsoneeds to deepen further.5. Volleyball League, College Volleyball, Volleyball Skills and Tactics researches are themain research contents, while the mass volleyball is less.6. In China, a volleyball graduate cited references is at an average of52, and Dr. ones are atan average of112. The gap between the Master graduates’ cited references existed ahuge gap. From scholars’ views, the number of cited references of Master and DoctoralDissertation also need to be improved. 7. In China, the factors influenced the quality of the doctoral thesis including both objectivefactors and subjective factors. Objective factors include instructors, postgraduatetraining modes and papers management program, subjective factors include the qualityof students, research attitude and realistic conditions.8. In future research, interdisciplinary research will be further strengthened. Thecurriculum reform and teaching methods of Competitive Volleyball and CollegeVolleyball will also be the focus of the study, and the mass volleyball and volleyballindustry also need further developed.Suggestions:1. It is better to improve the quality of volleyball graduates and enhance the scientificattitudes. The students should really love volleyball career and make a right attitude in theprocess of the research work.2. It would be the best to strengthen scientific research methods, enable students toeffectively and deeply understand the research methods’ function and the range ofapplications, furthermore, to grasp the comprehensive variety usages of researchmethods.3. It is better to create a variety of conditions for graduate research work and to increase theinput of funds so that scholars are able to devote to the research work.4. It is effective to improve the quality of graduate thesis. It should improve from thefollowing two aspects, on the one hand, it is more rigorous to management program ofgraduate dissertation quality, and on the other hand, the dissertation process is morerigorous from the opening title to the defending thesis.5. It is better to expand and pay more concern on the mass volleyball and volleyball industry, and makevolleyball play its due role in the process of national fitness, meanwhile, to further promote thevolleyball industry healthily developed. |
