The Current Situation Of Education Of Scientific Outlook On History In Universities In China

Scientific outlook on history is a crucial part of the Marxist philosophy. It is ascience on the common rules of development of human society founded by Karl Marxistand Friedrich Engels. It is also the important guiding philosophy to build a moderatelyprosperous society and achieve socialism with Chinese characteristics. With theincreasing number to the group of high educated people and influence from westernculture, it is now a well noticed social problem that whether the youngster in this countrywill receive the right guiding philosophy. It brings great challenges to ideological andpolitical education in universities. In particular, how can university education helpstudents building the right values and philosophy?This paper mainly focuses on the university students’ scientific outlook onhistory by drawing previous scholars’research achievements and methods from theperspective of the meaning and value of scientific outlook on history. It is divided intofour parts: the first part is introduction, which introduces the reasons for choosing thistopic as well as the research status, research principles and significances. On the basisof the discussion about the necessity of the education of scientific outlook on history, thesecond part reviews the course of education of scientific outlook on history andsummarizes its historical experiences. In the third part, this paper will discuss theexisting problems concerning scientific outlook on history and analyse the causes of theproblems. In the fourth part, several measures and suggestions will be proposed toimprove and strengthen the university’s education of scientific outlook onhistory.This thesis begins with the evidence of existence of scientific outlook on historyin China, the necessity of upholding such a conception, and a brief introduction on thehistorical development of university education on the conception since the country wasestablished. On the basis of a comprehensive study on the education environment anduniversity education system on scientific outlook on history, corresponding questionnaires are produced to find out the current situation of education of scientificoutlook on history in universities. It will identify the problems on university education onthe conception, analyses reasons causing these problems, and hence make suggestions onthe solutions and remedies to such problems.
