The course of Chinese is a basic one in both primary and secondary period.Chinese teaching goes as a whole, then from the whole to parts. The developing ofthe students’ skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing depends on not onlytheir mastering the systematic language knowledge, but their languagecommunication activities with the language knowledge as well. Here languagecommunication activities refer to language practice, namely “from the practice oflistening, reading, speaking, writing, the students experiencing—comprehending(forming language sense)—accumulating (language materials)—applying”. Thus itcan be seen that the students learning behaviors occur in the learning situation. Wecan know the students’ developing level by observing their learning behaviors. Thestudents learning behaviors and the level of their development are the importantbasis for the teachers to actualize their teaching behaviors. In the process of ourproject researching, we enhance our theory studying, study and grasp the newcurriculum ideas, and explore students’ learning behaviors during Chinese classes,with the method of literature researching, action research, and survey researching. Itis a big project to research the primary students’ learning behaviors in the process ofChinese reading, which is only a part of the project, focusing on the students’learning behaviors while listening and reading. The thesis consists of four parts.Chapter1—The introduction. Mainly from the wholeness of Chinese teachingand three processes of teaching Chinese, the author briefly describes the importanceof researching on students’ learning behaviors. The author puts forward the issues,objectives, the target and the method on the research, on the basis of improving theaccomplishment on Chinese, the times, the requirements of the curriculum reformand the school development in practice.Chapter2—The definition on the objects of the research and sort out relevantliterature. In this chapter, the author sorts out the relevant literature from foreigncountries and the relevant researches on students’ learning behaviors in domestic.And the author defines the concepts on "reading",“reading process”,“learning behavior” and “habit”, which were referred in this thesis.Chapter3—The research and the results of the research. In this chapter, theauthor lists the reading targets and contents in the new. According to the students’learning situation, the curriculum standard and the learning targets of each grade,the author sorts out the primary students’ chain reading behaviors with five forms.Form1—The chain behaviors on reading. Form2—The refined targets on listeningand reading behaviors. Form3—The refined targets on aloud reading behaviors.Form4—The refined targets on silent reading behaviors. Form5—The targets in eachgrade on reading behaviors. In order to make it clearer on the basis and the purposeof the five forms, the author explains the concept of “the chain reading behavior” atthe end of the chapter.Chapter4—The case studying based on the students’ listening and readingbehaviors in the process of reading. In this chapter, guided by “The primary students’chain reading behaviors”,“The refined targets on silent reading behaviors”,“Thetargets in each grade on reading behaviors”, which are referred in Chapter3, theauthor analyses three cases in Chinese teaching on reading, with which the authorproves the importance and the accuracy of the chain behaviors of the students’listening and reading behaviors.
