The Application Of The Twentieth Century Western Ethnic Identity Theory In The Field Of The Chinese Nation

With the increasing population of mobile phenomenon of global economic trade and market integration and global in scope, contacts and exchanges between different ethnic groups are also increasing, at the same time, the regional culture conflicts and ethnic disputes also further sublimation. The ethnic issue has become one of the hot after the cold war, the western academic circles concern. How to define the modern nation, how to strengthen the consciousness of different ethnic identity, how to solve the ethnic problems, and thus triggered a regional conflicts, to achieve national coexistence and co-prosperity, become the main research field has been to focus on the twentieth Century western academia, and puts forward the important theoretic and methodological theory of ethnic group, ethnic group identity theory, theory of nationalism. Due to the influence of ideology and historical reasons, China National Research Theory of soil slightly poor, cannot give adequate theoretical support for policy making. Therefore, how to further deepen the understanding of "ethnic group" and the theory of ethnic identity, how to learn from the western theory of ethnic identity, to promote the development of China’s national theory, solving the national problem of contemporary Chinese society faces, to the improvement of Chinese national theory and national prosperity, will have the important theory significance and the practical significance.In this paper, and reviewed the twentieth Century western theory of ethnic identity, and the western ethnic identity theory in the study of Chinese Ethnic Theory and ethnic work in the application of the literature review and theoretical analysis, to reflect the current Chinese national research in ethnic identity problems, prospect of Chinese national research prospect and direction. This paper is divided into five chapters, the first chapter mainly explains the aim, the significance of this thesis, dynamic, method and content; second chapter summarized the western "ethnic group" concept and the theory of ethnic identity, the connotation and definition; the third chapter discussed and evaluated briefly on the representative of the western theory of ethnic identity; the fourth chapter discusses the western ethnic identity theory, in the research field of Chinese Ethnic Theory and ethnic work application, reflects on China National Research in the national identity of the problems faced, and the study of ethnic Chinese prospect; the fifth chapter is the conclusion, analyzes and sums up the whole article content.
