A Study On Internet Literature’ Inlfuence On College Students’ Ideological And Political Education

Writings are for conveying truth. Literary works have always carried the connotation of ideologicaland political education, exerting influences on readers’ value and ways of thinking. One masterpiecewith characteristics of the contemporary society and socialistic core of value is not only a main sourceof materials for ideological and political education, but an essential form and means for readers to getself-access to ideological and political education. With the development of scientific technology,Internet literature is born in the meantime. Internet literature has more incomparable advangteges thantraditional literature in the number of wrtings, the number of people involved and the influences itexerts. But compared with the traditional literature of long and profound history, Internet literature lookslike an inexperienced but energetic young man, bringing ideological and political education life andchallenges.On the one hand, classic Internet literary works have positive influences on ideological andpolitical education for college students. For instance, Internet literature provides a new carrier forcollege students’ political education, an open room to communicate with others and convey their ownfeelings, a creative way to prevent and treat psychological problems, and a platform for college studentsto educate themselves. On the other hand, inferior Internet literary works have negative influences onideological and political education for college students, which are full of writings of salacity, of beingagainst morals, and of confusing right and wrong.They not only have impacts on college students’developing the dominant sense of values and their aesthetic value orientation, but also run them out ofthe restrictions of morals and laws, leading them to being addicted to reading and writing, and finallyaffecting their life and academic studies.Hence，ideological and political educators at college should consider Internet literature a new wayto conduct ideological and political education, into which connotations of education can be put and bywhich college students can be educated imperceptibly. Ideological and political educators at collegemust instruct college students to select and read Internet literary works abiding by the principles that theworks must be excellent with correct media guidance and noble spirits. Meanwhile, the literaturenetworks must be supervised legally. Also, to creat better Internet literature, Internet writers shouldstrengthen self-discipline, build up social responsibility, focus on good themes, publicize the true, thegood and the beautiful, and assail the false, the evil and the ugly. We believe that with combined effortsfrom networks, colleges and college students, Internet literature can move toward the right direction as anew way of college students’ ideological and political education. Internet literature will help to constructa harmonious campus by playing the sound of harmony.
