Objective: By echocardiography, the effect of the long-time tai chi exercise onthe cardiac function of elderly people was studied in order to observe the possiblehealth effects of tai chi on the heart, improve the accuracy of the effects of sports andfitness, reveal the fitness mechanism of Taijiquan and to test the different parametersof echocardiography in the applicability of assessment on cardiac function ofexercised people.Methods:53elderly people aged50-70,exerciseing tai chi for5-10years, weretaken on as the group, and43those, lack of regular exercise, were taken on as thecontrol. All the objects went after the conventional ultrasound, electrocardiogramand biochemical tests to rule out congenital heart disease, severe organic heartdisease, severe high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes and hyperthyroidism,which may affect the heart and blood viscosity disease. The parameters weredetermined by using the Philips IE33color Doppler ultrasonography and itsconfiguration the TDI online analytical software and by selecting conventionalultrasound detection of cardiac function indicators, indicators of quantitative tissuevelocity imaging, and the data, which are shown as averageĀ±standard differential,were analyzed by SPSS16.0software. Groups were compared using independent ttest, and groups between the norm mean comparison with the one-sample t test, P<0.05as significant difference, and p <0.01for the very significant difference.Results:(1) the conventional echocardiography tested reveals: the tai chi groupand the control group have no difference in the left ventricular end-diastolic diameterand the left ventricular end-systolic diameter, indicating that the left ventricularcardiac structure of the tai chi group and the normal group significantly has nochange; ejection fraction EF, FS and E/A are significantly different (P <0.05),showing that the tai chi group left cardiac function index is higher.(2) The indicatorsbased on quantitative tissue velocity (QTVI) detected reveal: the systolic S waveindicators and early diastolic E wave indicators from the tai chi group of leftventricular cardiac function are a significant difference (P <0.01), indicating that theTai chi group has significantly and partially improved myocardial function, and thelate diastolic A wave statistically has no difference (P>0.05), indicating that the useof QTVI to evaluate overall cardiac function has some limitations.(3) The resultsaccording to the tissue Doppler ultrasound test reveal: The Tei index is significantlylower than the control group, indicating that the cardiac function of the tai chi group is stronger than the control; Tissue Doppler Tei index indicators bwtween the twogroups are higher than the normal (P <0.01), indicating that their heart functionshows a downward trend with increasing age regardless of the exercise ornon-exercise crowd, and the conventional ultrasonic detection value in the normalrange indicated that tissue Doppler Tei index measuring cardiac function is moreaccurate than conventional ultrasound indicators.Conclusion:(1) The long-term tai chi exercise can promote the elderly heartmyocardial contractility, diastolic ability, contraction of the heart pump, and optimalcoordination between diastolic function, suggesting that the tai chi exercise has apositive effect on the overall cardiac function of the elderly.(2) The long-term tai chiexercise can improve overall cardiac function, but does not reverse the trend ofdecline in cardiac function due to age.(3)When compared to ordinaryechocardiography and QVTI technical indicators, Tissue Doppler Tei index used toevaluate the overall function of the heart have obvious advantages, mainly in thehigher sensitivity.
